The “secret menu” at the global restaurant chain McDonald’s is more than just an urban legend. A manager at a Scotland McDonald’s acknowledged its existence in a recent Reddit Q&A.

The manager confirmed that customers can mix and match any desired ingredients, they just have ask when they order. And obviously, customers will have to pay for the add-ons.

“Just like with any of our sandwiches, you can add, remove or change ingredients by special request. These are called ‘grill orders’ (i.e. Big Mac no pickle),” he wrote.

The managers said that the most popular secret menu item is “The Land, Air and Sea burger,” which is a Big Mac, McChicken and Filet-O-Fish combined into one sandwich.

“The items on the ‘secret menu’ weren’t invented by anyone officially at McDonald’s, it’s just a random person’s guide to burgers you could potentially ‘hack’ at McDonald’s,” he wrote.

Last year, affiliate WBZ-TV did its own investigation into secret food menu items and found that several chain restaurants like Panera and Chipotle were happy to serve up customers’ off-menu orders.

For example, Chipotle has a kid’s meal that isn’t listed.

The thread itself is interesting just to see how customers around the globe experience McDonalds, and the various nuances.
