Texas shop sells out of Donald Trump pinatas

Posted

DALLAS -- A family business in Texas that specializes in handcrafted pinatas said one particular party supply is flying off their shelves -- The Donald Trump pinata.

Last week, the owners, Carlos de la Fuente and his wife Elvie figured there would be no better symbol to take a swing at than the Republican candidate for the presidency.

Recently Trump faced harsh criticism for remarks he made about Mexican immigrants.

The party store owners said they aren't partisan. They said they'll make a pinata of anyone customers want. They just choose to make Trump pinatas because they thought their customers might want to smack it. Judging by their sales, they were right.

The store owners said they will continue to make them as long as customers want them.
