COOKE CITY, Mt -- A family returning home from Yellowstone National Park had a close encounter with some wildlife.
They were near Cooke City, Montana when they came upon a group of bears. One of them became curious and walked up to the car and latched on to it, much to the family's surprise.
"Oh my God! There's a bear on my car!" they can be heard saying on video they recorded from inside.
David Peters was actually outside the car taking pictures of the bears when he saw the one curious bear run to the car. He ran around the back and jumped into the backseat as the bear was at the front.
"It's five seconds of inattention that was really not good," Peters said, "It could've been disastrous if that bear had come straight for me instead of the front of the car like he did."
Fortunately for the family, the car only had a few scratches and mud smears from the encounter.
