RICHMOND, Va. -- About two blocks off Midlothian Turnpike in the city and near the Chesterfield County line, a crime played out last weekend.
What's caught on camera is giving a Southside business owner flashbacks of what he saw play out on live TV a couple of months ago. And he says it's the second or third incident in two months
"Looks like Baltimore right here in Richmond,” said Dustin Trebilco. He says vandals stomped on the hood of a car and did other damage outside his business on Atmore Drive Sunday night.
The vandals clearly paid no attention to the warning signs around them.
"Of course we see a group of thugs, maybe 10 to 15 of them, doing what they do best,” Trebilco said. “Ripping my mailbox out of the ground, damaging my vehicles, stomping on windshields, having no respect."
What really burns Trebilco up, is what he calls the lack of communication with police. He says he called 9-1-1 but never got a response.
Police say there's no "one specific way" to handle property crime cases, adding if the criminals are already gone, they take a report and assign resources to an investigation.
"It depends on the nature of the complaint, as to what our response will be,” said Maj. Sydney Collier. “Sometimes it's take the complaint and follow up."
Richmond Police hadn't seen this video before Tuesday.
"You showed me the video,” Collier said. “We were unaware of the video."
Trebilco says a detective finally contacted him Tuesday afternoon and said they would pick up the surveillance video tomorrow.
