When the hotter, more humid air will return arrive — and how long it will stick around

After hitting the lower 90s on Tuesday, temperatures have been comfortable the past few days.  Comfortable weather will continue into Sunday before some heat returns on Monday.

A gradual increase in the humidity will occur over the holiday weekend, but will begin to be noticeable beginning Monday.  The hotter and more humid trend will last for the entire week.

While it will be a bit cooler at Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks, temperatures will still be fairly warm.  Water temperatures have also increased with some readings around 70°.

This will be one of the warmer Memorial Days out of the past 15 years.  During this period, temperatures have averaged a bit above normal, but this year’s high will be about 10° above normal.
