RICHMOND, Va. -- Be on the look-out for a man with shiny bracelets, otherwise known as handcuffs.

You can see him in surveillance video, as he escaped from a Richmond police car and ran down East Ladies Mile Road.

It all began earlier Thursday, when community policing was visible around a Northside neighborhood store, as an officer went inside.

Customers tell CBS-6, he spotted illegal activity going down outside the building on a surveillance camera monitor and video caught the transaction.

The officer quickly detained a man and walked him to his cruiser.

Handcuffed in front, then placed in the front seat, the officer shut the door and went after a second man who was involved. But after the officer walked away, the man in the cruiser took 15 seconds to escape and run away.

It appears that he may still be wearing the handcuffs.

K-9's were brought in, but as of late Thursday, the man was still at large. So if you see a man walking through your neighborhood with handcuffs on--police want you to call them
