RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts just launched a way for folks to enjoy the sunny weather, stimulate the brain, score some prizes, and learn about the new Japanese Scavenger Hunt. In the end, all clues relate to a tattoo, the design of which will wind up being a mural in Richmond. Every couple of days the organization will put a new piece of the tattoo around Richmond, in a place that represents that tattoo’s meaning.
With each latest clue, the VMFA plans to post the picture and a clue on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter about where that piece can be found.
It looks like there will be six clues total. The first was released May 18 and they clues will continue through May 29, with a brief Memorial Day weekend hiatus.
Again, here’s what you need to do.
1. Check the clue.
2. Find the piece.
3. Take a picture of yourself with it.
4. Post it to Instagram with #ttthunt.
5. Once you’ve found (and taken pictures of yourself with) all six pieces, post the last picture with #tttfound.
According to the VMFA, the first 50 people who complete the scavenger hunt get a free ticket to the exhibition. And they will put you in the drawing for one of two grand prizes:
1.) A free year-long membership at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, or
2.) Free drinks and a ride home from the Mural Release Party at Triple Crossing Brewing on May 30.
That’s because there is a big mural-party at Triple Crossing Brewing on Saturday, May 30 to celebrate all this fun stuff.
