Firecrackers prompt scare at Crewe bus stop

Posted

CREWE, Va. — Firecrackers sparked a school scare and put parents in a panic Friday morning in Crewe, Virginia.

Police said were called to investigate after a middle school student reported seeing another student with a gun — and other students reported hearing loud pops — at the Crewe Library bus stop.

Investigators found the person suspected of carrying the gun at a nearby home. They later realized he was carrying a pellet gun and was not a student.

After further investigation, they found firecrackers in the library parking lot and the Nottoway High School student who is believed to have set them off.
