After high temperatures in the low to mid 40s on Saturday, clear skies allowed for daybreak lows on Sunday to drop into the teens and 20s. New record lows occurred at Danville, Lynchburg, Staunton and Appomattox. Richmond International Airport had a low of 26°, missing the record by four degrees. This was the coldest temperature since 18° on March 7. The normal low for this point of March is in the lower 40s.
Low temperatures for the week ahead will be mostly in the 40s and 50s.
