RICHMOND, Va. –  Richmond Police responded to a call at 3:12 a.m. on Saturday of a shooting on the 500 block of Rossmore Road near Chippenham Parkway.

Upon arrival, Richmond police found a 26-year-old male had been shot multiple times. The victim was transported to Chippenham Hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Dozens of neighbors in the St. John's Woods apartment complex heard the shots.  Witnesses said they saw the man laying on the ground next to a vehicle in a park spot.

During what appears to be a robbery attempt, police said the suspect was wearing a mask over his face.

"It kind of sounds like it may have been planned," said Shelia Artiga, who lives nearby.

"There's just not enough love in the world anymore.  Love is gone, and they don't just care," said Robin Robins who heard the shots.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
