RICHMOND, Va. — A new report highlights a gap in overall health between cities and counties in the Richmond metro area.
According to countyhealthrankings.org, Hanover is the healthiest county in the area. It earned a rank of 22 out of 133 localities.
The next healthiest is Chesterfield, at 25. Henrico earned the 33 spot.
The City of Richmond, though came in at 113.
Richmond didn’t fare the worst among the metro localities, though. Petersburg came in at 131 of 133.
The rankings are based on the overall health of a locality, including how long people live and how well people feel while they’re alive.
