RICHMOND, Va. -- Take it. Share It. Step Out. That's what the American Diabetes Association wants you to do for the organization's Alert Day - March 24. The association is urging you to take the free Diabetes Risk Test to find out if you're at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
After you take the test, either online here or by pen and paper, the organization asks you spread the word and start living a healthy, active lifestyle.
Diabetes is a serious disease that affects nearly 30 million Americans including nearly 900,000 people in Virginia, according to the American Diabetes Association. Early intervention through lifestyle changes such as weight loss and increased physical activity can help delay or prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes.
