HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A three-month-old baby survived being pinned between a stroller and the tire of an SUV with only a few scrapes and scratches. Three children all under the age of 10 were alone in the vehicle when it rolled over the stroller over the weekend, investigators said.
"I was cutting my grass and I heard some screams and when I heard the scream, I saw the ladies trying to push the truck, and I didn't know what they were trying to push the truck for," neighbor Nicholas Diggs said.
When Diggs ran over, he saw the baby pinned between the stroller and tire of the SUV.
"Me and my two friends, they pushed the truck up and I grabbed the baby from up under the truck," he said.
Paramedics arrived and the child was flown to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, deputies are investigating why the children were alone inside the SUV.
"One of them somehow managed to get the vehicle into neutral. It began rolling back, and struck the child who was inside the stroller behind the SUV," William Zermeno, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said."
A family member was outside near the children when this happened.
