MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The winter weather in the northern states may have had many people wanting to visit Miami Beach. But on Tuesday a road sign leading to the city seemed to say visitors were not welcome there.
Drivers headed toward Miami Beach noticed a traffic sign that read “Welcome vistors [sic]! Prohibited.”
To add to the strangeness, the word “visitors” was misspelled.
According to local media reports, city officials turned the sign off when they found out about the issue. They also clarified that visitors are, in fact, welcome.
The sign was supposed to welcome visitors, and say that glass, metal, styrofoam and alcohol were prohibited.
