Mailing a package? Waffle House wants to help deliver it.

Posted

RICHMOND, Va — UPS, FedEx, the U.S. Postal Service, Waffle House.

It may seem like one of these doesn’t belong — but soon, they’ll all be in the business of delivering mail.

The breakfast restaurant chain is teaming up with an app company called “Rodie” to deliver packages and mail.

Customers looking to ship a package will use the app to find a driver headed toward their package’s destination. They’ll hand the package to the driver, who will then deliver it to a Waffle House nearby. The package recipient will then pick it up there.

The driver gets a free waffle for their efforts, and app members get special promotions.
