RICHMOND, Va. – A Richmond police officer is being praised by his colleagues for the way he comforted a robbery victim.
It happened after first precinct officer Brian Wilson responded to a call at Hull and Sixteenth Street.
That is where he found an 80-year-old woman who said the robber pushed her and stole $10 right out of her pocket.
The woman, who lives off of her Social Security check, was understandably upset.
So Wilson dug into his own pocket and gave her a $10 bill.
“This is the reason why I became a Richmond police officer. It’s definitely to help somebody out and somebody in need like this,” Wilson said. “I think any police officer in that situation probably would have done the same thing.”
Officer Wilson said he wanted to give the woman more, but only had $10 in his pocket.
