RICHMOND, Va. — Two people were hurt in a double-shooting Thursday morning, Richmond Police spokesman James Mercante confirmed. The crime scene stretched about seven miles from the 1400 block of Ivymount Road in Richmond to the Raceway gas station along the 5200 block of Jeff Davis Highway in Chesterfield County.  The shooting was first reported at about 11:05 a.m.

“Two males confronted each other in argument and shot each other,” Mercante said. “One male drove himself a few blocks away and called police. He then drove a few more blocks (into Chesterfield County) and called police again.”

The man was taken to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life threatening. The second man involved in the shooting was taken to CJW Chippenham Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life threatening. The police investigation is on-going. This is a developing story.
