RICHMOND, Va. — This cold stretch of weather Thursday through Saturday will freeze out older cold records. And the last time we were at zero or colder was January 28, 2000 (the low temperature that date was -1F).
Seeing as this cold snap is unusual for us, we took a look at the temps of some other cities accustomed to being much colder than us — just to see THE EXTENT OF OUR SHIVERING AND SUFFERING.
And our collective pain is real. It is warmer in parts of Russia, Iowa, North Dakota, Maine, Alaska, and Canada than Richmond.
