CORNING, Arkansas -- An Arkansas girl's high school prom invitation has become a viral video. Autumn Pollard said she thought she was going to any other Corning High School pep rally where she is regularly called down to the middle of the basketball court to dance with the school's mascot.
"He's looking at me, and I get up in my chair and we are dancing together," Pollard, a high school junior with Noonan syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects her growth and heart, said. But what happened next brought tears to Pollard's eyes.
Her classmate and friend from church walked out onto the court.
"Here's Cope [Robinson] walking to me and [he has] a couple [of] flowers, my favorite colors," she said.
In front of the entire school. Robinson, a football player, asked Pollard to the school's big dance with him.
"It will be a big memory. It will be there forever. I will never forget this. It's a special thing," Robinson said.
Pollard said the whole thing was like a dream come true.
