RICHMOND, Va. -- Four students were taken to VCU Medical Center to be checked out after a school bus accident at Bank and 9th Streets near the Virginia State Capitol in downtown Richmond Thursday morning. So far, no serious injuries have been reported as a result of the crash.

The accident, which involved a Richmond Public Schools bus and a pick-up truck, happened after a big rig pulled out onto 9th Street and caused traffic to stop quickly, police said. There were 15 students on the bus at the time of the accident.

The uninjured students were loaded onto a second bus and continued their ride to Richmond Alternative School.

Police were called to the crash scene at 9:28 a.m. The investigation into this crash continues.
