RICHMOND: Will the ghosts appear this year for the Ghost Watch at Centre Hill Mansion, you’ll have to be there to find out. The Annual Ghost Watch at Centre Hill Mansion in Petersburg is Saturday, January 24th.

According to the Legend focusing on the watch, every January 24 at 7:30 pm, a regiment of soldiers, presumably Civil War, makes their presence known at the museum. Soldiers can be heard marching along the passageway, going up the stairs and into a room. About 20 minutes later, the soldiers are heard descending the staircase and leaving after slamming the door. Visitors can tour the mansion on the night the soldiers were heard in the mansion. Tours start at 6pm and will leave every 15 minutes until 8:45 p.m. The interior lights will be dimmed briefly at 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. to give visitors a chance to listen for the soldiers.

Reservations are required by visiting Centre Hill Museum, at 1 Centre Hill Avenue, before January 24th. Tickets are $10 Prepayment by check or cash is encouraged. This tour is recommended for ages 12 and older. For
