HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico woman is facing five charges after police said she assaulted three officers early New Year’s morning.

Henrico police arrested 45-year-old Ursula Millican after a call of a car in a parking lot with loud music coming from it. Police also said she was screaming at the top of her lungs.

"I wouldn't say screaming, I would say singing, singing loud," Millican told CBS 6's Chelsea Rarrick in a jail interview Thursday evening.

It happened in the 2300 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike, which is just north of Interstate 64.

While she was being arrested for DUI, police said that "she vehemently resisted arrest."

"I was not resisting arrest, I may have moved a little bit more than he wanted me too when he put handcuffs on," said Millican.

In addition to the DUI charge, Millican was also charged with assaulting three police officers.

"When they got me turned over, holding me down on the ground with their hands on my face smooshing my face down on the ground, sure, someone is going to wiggle around and if my foot maybe kicked one of them it was not a kick, it was more like reflexes," she said.

Millican said she admits she may have said some derogatory words to the officers, and says she was told that she did bite an officer.

"It's just total reflex, if someone is grabbing your face what are you going to do?" she said.

Millican says her bond hearing is set for Monday morning at 9 a.m.
