HENDERSON CO., North Carolina — A teenage girl from North Carolina posted a heartbreaking question on Facebook, and then committed suicide.
According to WLOS, Amber Cornwell, 16, took her life Dec. 20. She was laid to rest the day after Christmas.
WLOS reported that just before she took her life, Cornwell asked on Facebook that if she died that night “would anyone cry?”
“I’ve been crying for days now,” said Sierra Crochet, who has known her since first grade.
Cornwell was an honor roll student, played tennis, was a dancer and a member of the chorus. But those close to her said the bullying continued.
“They were just calling her names,” Crochet told WLOS. “And called her names and said she had no future and had nothing going for her.”
Another friend said that this group of people would also use Facebook to harass her and send mean messages.
