LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia woman said she was ripped off by a man in a Santa suit. Andrea Dombrowski told Fox5 she hired a man to come to her Leesburg home and play Santa for a Christmas party Friday night.
After Santa posed for pictures, Dombrowski said the man in the red suit had a few drinks at the bar. It was soon thereafter, witnesses told Dombrowski they saw Santa going through coat pockets looking for change. He was then seen walking off with party gifts meant her guests.
The homeowner said Santa later wrote her an email in which he admitted to taking some “leftover gifts.” He even returned some of the missing items to Dombrowski. Still, the party hostess said the whole experience has upset her.
“Probably my feelings are hurt more than anything because this is someone I trusted and brought into my home and was very generous to,” she told Fox5.”It’s very embarrassing to have opened my home, to have people enjoy the holiday, and now they have to be concerned about whether they have been stolen from as well.”
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. So far, no arrests have been made.
