MECHANICSVILLE, Va. — Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies surrounded a car near the intersection of Bell Creek and Pole Green Roads and removed someone from inside the vehicle Friday morning.

Hanover Sheriff’s spokesman Major Michael Trice said deputies stopped the car after someone called 911 to report an issue with someone suffering some sort of mental issue at their home.

When deputies located the person in the vehicle, they talked the person out of the car, Trice said.

The person was transported to a hospital.

The incident, which has since been cleared, delayed traffic in the area.
