FRESNO, Calif. -- A man whose wife of more than half a century recently died said she's still with him -- and sending him "colorful" messages.
Vinto Scarabello, 93, lives in California. His wife of 64 years died in August, and he has visited her grave in Fresno, California every Sunday since then.
KMPH reports that Scarabello said the last three times he brought flowers, they turned purple -- which happened to be his late wife's favorite color.
"There was one red rose bud as red as can be. Brought it here on a Sunday," Scarabello said. "The following Sunday, what a surprise, the red bud was purple."
Florists say this often happens when flowers age. Scarabello, though, said he believes it's a sign from his wife. He has returned to church because of it.
