Try this sweet and savory pork chop with apply chutney dish

RICHMOND, Va - Chef Herman Baskerville, Owner of Big Herm's Kitchen and Catering, cooked up some sweet and zesty pork chops with apple chutney. Big Herm pulled together the flavors of the season with fresh apples, ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a dash of cayenne to complete these flavorful cuts of meat. Big Herm’s Chops with Apple Chutney



1 Tbs – Oil

1 ½ tsp – Lawry’s Season Salt

1 tsp – Garlic Powder

½ tsp- Cumin

½ tsp – Black Pepper


1 – Onion

1 ½ tsp - Garlic Cloves-minced

5- Red Apples Diced

1/8 cup- Water

1/8 cup - Soy Sauce

¼ cup – Brown Sugar

¼ cup – White Vinegar

1 tsp – Ginger

½ tsp – Cayenne

½ tsp – Cinnamon


  1. Coat Chops with Oil and Spices
  2. In hot sautee’ pan brown Chops for 3-4 mins. on each side. Set aside in a Baking Pan
  3. In a sautee’ pan brown Onion & Garlic
  4. Add all other ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat low. Cook until Chutney thickens.
  5. Pour Chutney over Chops in the Baking Pan
  6. Cover with Foil
  7. Bake on 325* F for 1 hour
