The organization Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays (PFOX) has rented a Lamar billboard along Interstate 95 Richmond to post a scientifically controversial message.
The billboard’s message says that research shows nobody is born gay.The group cites a study on twins and genes conducted in a 2000 Northwestern University Department of Psychology study.
The author of that research study, J. Michael Bailey, has said he does not approve of PFOX’s interpretation.
In fact, the same study is used by many same-sex advocacy groups as proof that genes may influence sexual orientation.
