MELBOURNE, Australia -- Transit authorities released dramatic surveillance video of a toddler in a stroller rolling onto tracks at a train station in Melbourne.
The video shows a man, who is believed to be the 18-moth-old girl's grandfather, looking away for a matter of seconds. It is then, the stroller starts to roll down the sloping platform.
The girl topples over the edge, plunging head first onto the tracks.
The grandfather jumps down to rescue the girl. Bystanders help out too.
The toddler was taken to the hospital where she is being treated for injuries to her face. A transit spokeswoman said thankfully there were no trains coming in either direction for some time after the fall.
