DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa man arrested for assaulting his pregnant wife with a McDonald’s McChicken sandwich said he hoped his sudden notoriety just goes away.
"I don’t want to be remembered as like the McDonald’s McChicken bandit dude," Marvin Hill told WHO-TV.com.
Hill made headlines this week after he was charged with assault and police listed the weapon used as a McChicken.
Hill said he got upset when his wife brought home the McChicken sandwich for him to eat, a sandwich he said is not something "you want to wake up to."
I don’t know. I was mad. I threw the bun at her hair. After the bun hit her in the hair she started screaming hysterically and I was like ‘dude, you’re…you’re freaking out for no reason. Chill out.'
I picked up our daughter. She goes to the bathroom to clean the mayo out of her hair and stuff and then I was filming it because she was cussing me out the whole time as I was holding out daughter and stuff.
She hit me in my nose, she busted my lip and I was like ‘dude you just hit me while I’m holding our kid. Like what’s wrong with you.'”
Hill said he called police, who then arrested him for assault. Police said Hill was the aggressor and enticed his wife into knocking the phone out of his hands to make it appear as though she was the aggressor.
While Hill said he hoped the judge would go easy on him since this was his first offense, he admitted the incident has likely ended his marriage.
