RICHMOND, Va. -- Hundreds of people took to the streets of Richmond Monday night after a Missouri grand jury decided not to indict Ferguson officer Darren Wilson for the killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown back on August 9. The protestors were mostly VCU students, who were joined by VUU students and others from the community. They all marched from the Monroe Park area, to Richmond's Police Headquarters downtown.
Tuesday more demonstrators are planning to make sure their voices are heard during another protest planned here in the Metro.
"I think everyone should come together in the community and speak and talk about the things that they should or should not do to keep themselves out of danger," Richmond resident Tyrone Coleman said.
The demonstration is set for 4:30 p.m. outside the John Marshall Courthouse. The Richmond group will join close to 100 planned protests taking place in nearly three dozen states.
