PORT HUENEME, Calif. – A pilot died in a plane that crashed near Point Mugu Naval Air Station Wednesday night.
It’s unclear whether if the plane was taking off or landing at the naval base, but according to investigators, the airplane belonged to a contractor who leased space there.
Investigators are still trying to figure out if the pilot was ejected from the plane before it went down. No one on the ground was hurt.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
