HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A rash of recent home and car break-ins in Varina has unnerved people who live there.
Neighbors say this past weekend an already problematic situation was worsened when at least 12 cars along Osborne Turnpike were robbed.
Neighbors said that in many case doors had been left unlocked.
For one worried father a car break-in was especially cruel.
“And my son, he's got, he's got, he had medications in his car for cancer,” he said. “And he's working out of town so he kept them in the console -- they got those."
Neighbors say they want more patrols in the area.
Police remind residents to report every incident. Residents have created a Facebook page to increase communication and awareness among residents.
