HENRICO, Va. — Regency Square was temporarily on lock down Monday evening, police sources said, after witnesses reported that they believed a weapon was displayed during an argument. Police were called to the 1400 block of N. Parham Road at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.
“Witnesses reported they believed a weapon was displayed during this argument just prior to the suspects leaving the address,” said Lieutenant S. E. Kubicki, with Henrico Police. “There were no reported injuries.”
Police executed a search of the mall and stores were locked down as this happened. Police have not issued a suspect description, and no gun was found. No injuries were reported either.
In August a gunwas fired amid a group of young adults fighting near Macy’s at Regency Square.
In that situation two people were charged. One with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm and shooting into an occupied building. Another male was charged with assault. Over the course of three months, there were several reports of violent crimes that put people who live and work near the mall on edge.
If you were at the mall Monday night and saw anything that could help police, call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000. We would also like to hear your report, so click here to email the WTVR CBS 6 newsroom.
