BENSON, N.C. – Video of a North Carolina teen who got his wisdom teeth pulled and then went on a bizarre rant about pop star Beyoncé has gone viral.
Buzzfeed.com reported that 17-year-old Cody Lanphere cried to his mother that Beyoncé lied to him after recently having his wisdom teeth removed.
His mother, Christine Weber Livingston, captured the dental drug-induced rant on a 12-minute video that was later posted to YouTube. That video had nearly 200,000 views as of Monday.
As they apparently drove back from dental surgery, the teenager asked: “Where is Beyoncé?”
The mother responds by saying that Beyoncé couldn’t make it — and this brings her son to tears.
“She promised me she’d be here,” Lanphere crises, devastated with the sudden realization that his idol is nowhere to be found. “She lied to me!”
Things take another turn a bit later in the video.
“I don’t feel good,” Lanphere tells his mother. “Where are we?”
The teen’s mother tells him that they’ve just left the dentist’s office, where he had surgery.
“They took your teeth out,” his mother says.
“My teeth? Oh my God,”Lanphere replies. As the gravity of the situation sinks in, he looks to the camera and begins to well up.
“Everything’s’ fine. Just relax,” Livingston says to reassure her son.
Another amusing moment comes as Livingston reminds her son that they live on a farm.
Baffled, Lanphere asks, “We live on a farm? I don’t want to be Old MacDonald.”
After some more anecdotes and drama, Lanphere rolls down his window and exclaims, “I look like a super model!”
But when his mom tells him to put his head back and just breathe, Lanphere tells her, sassy pointed finger and all — “I am Beyoncé. You don’t tell me what to do.”
The mother and son are from Benson, North Carolina, according to the Daily Mail.
