EASLEY, South Carolina —  A South Carolina woman used her cell phone to take a picture of a man she said he hit her SUV.

“He said, ‘If you want to take a picture of something, why don’t you take a picture of me?'” Heather Parlier said about the bizarre road rage incident. “I took his picture right there at my car.”

“The man behind me apparently got tired of waiting,” Parlier said. “He just cut from behind me.”

She said the man almost hit her as she made a left turn.

“So, of course, I blew my horn at him,” she said.

When the two drove to a light to turn onto Highway 123, Parlier said the man’s road rage shifted into high gear.

“He put his car in reverse and then he took it out of reverse and put it in drive,” Parlier said.

But, instead of grabbing her .380, she picked up her phone and snapped several pictures of the van the man was driving.

“And he finally backed up until he hit me,” she said.

Parlier said the impact left damage to the front bumper of her SUV.

“He approached my vehicle in a threatening manner,” she said.

When Parlier continued to take pictures, the man stuck out his tongue. She also used her phone to call 911. She said that’s when the driver jumped back into his van and took off.

“I want justice,” Parlier said.

On Tuesday, Easley Police named a person of interest in the case. On Wednesday, police announced Sergio Perez had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Perez, 44, was charged with hit and run causing damage to an attended vehicle, according to warrants. The arrest warrant states that Perez was identified using a photo taken and DMV information.
