RICHMOND, Va. - Police are looking for the driver of the car that slammed into a utility pole along the 4600 block of Jeff Davis Highway early Tuesday morning. The 4600 block is just north of Walmsley Boulevard.
One person in the car was taken to the hospital after the 2 a.m. crash, police said, but the driver fled the crash scene.
Police said the male crash victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The car, an older model Mercury Cougar, was totaled in the crash. The pole was not badly damaged. There were no reports of power outages in the area.
The crash closed lanes along Jeff Davis Highway until about 3 a.m.
