DOSWELL, Va. — If you love hearing local bands perform — or are in a band and looking for a big break — the Virginia State Fair is offering a unique opportunity.
Officials are accepting applications for the local music stage at this year’s fair.
The stage will have feature live performances from Virginia-based musicians from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all ten days of the fair.
Each band will score a 90-minute spot that includes 15 minutes for set-up and 15 minutes to tear down.
Performers will not get paid, but it’s a great opportunity to be seen.
Fair officials said that last year’s response was so overwhelming that they had to turn some musicians down.
