NOVOSIBIRSK, Russia — Beach goers at a beach in Russia got a big surprise this weekend when a storm appeared out of nowhere and dropped golf ball-sized hail, sending sunbathers running for cover.
It happened at a beach in Siberia’s largest city and a video posted to YouTube on Saturday captured the chaos.
As the video begins, winds began to pick up and some swimmers come out of the water. Minutes later, large hail begins falling from the sky as folks on the beach run for cover. Some people hid under umbrellas while others hid under their towels.
The Moscow Times reports the temperature quickly dropped about 20 degrees as a powerful front passed through.
No one was injured.
