Fundraiser to increase reward in finding Alexander Hill Jr.

PETERSBURG, Va. (WTVR) - The last few months have been anything but easy for Ronell Washington and his family.

"Every time I think about the suffering that went on in this house sometimes you get overwhelmed with it," said Washington.

Washington's aunt, Pauline Wilkins and her three family members were found dead inside a Petersburg home on Harding St. back in April

Since, State and Federal Investigators have been on the hunt for Alexander Hill Jr. who is a person of interest in the investigation. Since he has not been found, Washington said many of his family members are living in fear.

"There are family members that have had to relocate staying in hotels, not sure if this person is going to come back," said Washington.

Hill was spotted in surveillance video on Easter Sunday in North Carolina. US Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Hill.

Now, the family hopes to offer even more money.

The family along with Councilman Howard Myers are hosting a fundraiser on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Harding street to increase the reward to find Hill.

Since announcing the plans, the family had already raised $1,000 as of Friday evening.

Councilman Myers said this is one way to keep the family optimistic about finding Hill.

"It's to bring closure to the family and help the community heal," said Myers.

However, true healing for this family won't come until they get answers about who killed their loved ones.

"We are trying our best to get justice for them," said Washington. "We don't want this to become another cold case."\

For those who would like to donate but can't attend the event, you can go to any Wells Fargo and say you would like to donate to the Wilkins, Chavis, Washington donation fund.
