LOS ANGELES – While it is hard to make it in the music industry, some singers have found success uploading their music to YouTube.
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Rob Cantor tried a slightly different approach with his YouTube video. Instead of using his own voice to sing his song “Perfect,” Cantor impersonated 29 celebrities, or did he? (Scroll down)
The result? A viral video. Close your eyes and listen. How many can you pick out?
Cantor’s video has been viewed more than 500,000 times since it was posted July 1.
Here is a list of celebrity voices:
- Randy Newman
- Jack Black
- Kermit the Frog
- Louis Armstrong
- Christopher Lloyd
- Willie Nelson

- Gollum
- Steve Buscemi
- Billie Holiday
- Frank Sinatra
- Peter Griffin

- Ray Romano
- Adam Sandler
- Gwen Stefani

- Ian McKellan
- Shakira
- Britney Spears
- Jeff Goldblum
- Chistopher Walken

While the video turned out great, it was actually a bit of an online hoax. While it appears Cantor was the man behind all the celebrity voices, turns out he actually hired profession impressionists to perform and lip-synced the video.
Cantor’s original song was viewed 9 million times on YouTube. His “making of” video was seen by less than 800,000 people.
