BOSTON, Mass. (WTVR) – A mother and son continue to recover after they jumped from a burning building outside Boston over Mother’s Day weekend.
“I grabbed my son and I held him as tight as I could to my chest and I gave him a kiss and a hug, and I told him I loved him and I jumped out the window,” Christina Simoes told the Boston CBS affiliate. “I didn’t think about it. All I was thinking about was getting him out of there. He mattered way more than I did.”
Simoes broke her back in the fall and is not able to walk. Her son, 18-month old Cameron, was not seriously injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
