RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — VDOT said a pothole has closed the right lane of I-95 south on the James River bridge Wednesday afternoon.
VDOT officials sent crews to make repairs, but the timing intersected with rush-hour traffic and at one point there was a three-mile backup as of 5:45 p.m.
Mark Holmberg snapped a photo of the thing VDOT was calling a pothole.
It looks like a part of the road has caved in.
At 7:15 p.m. crews were still out there working but there were no traffic back-ups.
