SPARTANBURG, SC (WHNS) — The relative of a man whose car was attacked with jelly and frozen food items said the assault stemmed from a domestic dispute that went too far.
Spartanburg police said they were called to the Woodland Apartments on Monday about 2 p.m. where two vehicles were covered in a purple jelly-like substance and had dents.
Police said a witness reported seeing a woman throw frozen food items and jelly at a blue Chevy Caprice and the items also hit the SUV parked next to it. The police report stated they found the jelly on the car’s roof, hood, trunk and all along the sides of the car.
According to the police report, the woman heard someone leave the apartment where the food was taken from and then saw her throwing the food.
WHNS spoke with a relative of the Caprice’s owner who also lives in the apartment and he said the woman flung frozen pizzas, chicken legs and ground beef along with sandwich items including jelly at the car.
The relative, who did not want to be identified, said the vandalism stemmed from “baby mama drama that had gone too far.”
The owner of the Durango told police that the frozen food dented her door and there was jelly smears on part of the SUV.
According to police, the vandalism was caught on camera and they were following up with the evidence left behind and the case remains under investigation.
