(WTVR) — It is a selfie that one teen will likely never forget after he received a swift boot to the head when a train passed by.

The brief video begins with Jared Michael standing next to a train track as a train approaches. Within seconds the train begins to race by and in a blur you see the legs of a person standing on an outside platform of the train’s engine stick out a black boot and kick Jared in the side of the head.
The entire clip, which Jared posted the video on Youtube Tuesday, is over in 10 seconds. By Wednesaday afternoon the video had amassed over 300,000 views.
“I tried to take a selfie while a train passed a ‘safe’ distance behind,” wrote Jared in the YouTube caption. “I guess I was still too close and got kicked in the head. I messed up.”
But in the era of internet hoaxes, some wonder if this could be the latest scheme by late night host Jimmy Kimmel. Remember that twerking fire video that turned out to be a fake?
However, train photographer Jose Rendon told the New York Daily News he does not think this is a prank.
“The only country I could think of that has this type of paint scheme is the Peru Rail,” he told the newspaper.
