RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)-- Because we are apparently going for City of Cutest Animals award.

A female goat named Tag, born and raised at Maymont, gave birth to two kids last Wednesday, April 2.

They just recently had their first veterinary visit on Tuesday, and the vet confirmed they are both healthy and growing normally.

Turns out that Tag gave birth to a male and female. The one-week-old kids are now available for public view at the Children’s Farm.

The kids don’t have official names yet.

"We handle naming in a variety of ways – sometimes the animal keepers name them, sometimes naming rights are sold at auction, sometimes we do a contest – and we haven’t determined yet who will name these cuties," said Assistant Director of Marketing & PR with the Maymont Foundation, Carla Murray.

Tag and her offspring live at Maymont through a partnership with Wag-N-Wheel Farm.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE! Another pregnant female goat named Amelia will give  birth within the next two to three weeks. Amelia is a permanent resident, owned by Maymont.

Want an up close, personal experience with the goats? Well, you won't get this deal with the cheetahs!

Beginning in May, Maymont will offer a limited number of exclusive 20-minute visits inside the pasture with the kids for $50 per family of four. Online registration is available for this special opportunity.

To help feed and care for the new babies and the rest of the animals, Maymont welcomes donations to its Adopt an Animal program at www.maymont.org/adopt.
