RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–VCU sent out an alert that there was a robbery at Park and North Morris Street, on the Monroe Park campus.
The robbery took place at 6:23 p.m. Later VCU updated information online to say “off campus robbery.”
Police said that a woman was walking westbound in the 1300 block of Park Avenue, when she was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect poked her in the back with an unknown object and demanded money from the woman.
She complied and gave the suspect money, police said. The suspect then fled the scene in the 200 block of N. Morris St. and hearded toward Grove Ave.
The man’s voice was described as deep, but no other identifying characteristics were made.
Police said that patrols have increased in the area, and that to assume there is still a possible threat with the robber at large.
