Grabdma Betty CollageLOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVR) — A Kentucky grandma has become an Instagram sensation thanks to her great-grandson.

Grandma Betty” has cancer, so the teen decided to record precious moments with his grandma, and share them with others.

“Zachary came home from school one day and said, ‘Mom, I started grandma an Instagram account,” Hope Belden, Betty’s granddaughter, told WDRB.

The family said Grandma Betty loves all the attention and feels like a celebrity as she watches her followers grow.

Hope Belden said the family feels joy when Grandma Betty asks, “How many more friends do I have today?”

Grandma Betty is also hopeful that she can teach her followers something, too.

“I’ve been here 80 years, maybe they’ll learn something good from me,” she said.

One of her most popular videos features Grandma Betty dancing to “Happy,” the hit Pharrell Williams song.

One of the most poignant posts features Grandma Betty on a rough day two months ago.

“Yeah, ‘Tell ‘em to pray for me because I’m hurting,” she said. “Tell ‘em I love all of ‘em.”

“I just can’t believe it,” Betty said when asked what she thought of reaching 23,000 followers. “And I think a lot of them. I love ‘em.”

As of Monday, March 17, Grandma Betty had over 85,000 followers with just over 50 posts.
