HOUSTON, Tex. (KTRK) — Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting where a Houston father allegedly opened fire on a boy in his teenage daughter’s bedroom.
It happened early Thursday morning in northwest Harris County.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a father was alerted by one of his four children that someone was in the house.
When the father went to investigate, he found a 17-year-old boy inside his 16-year-old daughter’s room.
Detectives said the man’s daughter told her father that she did not know the 17-year-old.
After that, deputies said there was an altercation and the father shot and killed the 17-year-old male.
However, authorities later said that they believe the teen was let into the house and that the girl knew the boy.
The sheriff’s office said he was a student at nearby Klein Collins High School.
An investigation is underway.
