The news came through in a tweet.
Elliot Yamin will return to his hometown and play a free show at F.W. Sullivan’s along the Canal. The Freeman graduate and American Idol finalist will play with Kid is Qual.
The event is part of Shockoe Fest St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
The main event, a family friendly affair, is being billed as a “new beginning in Shockoe Bottom.”
The celebration takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and then festivities continue at different venues.
This festival replaces Shamrock the Block, which has moved to the Boulevard.
